This is a vigorous colonizer that often produces impressive yields in dense patches of medium sized fruiting bodies. Caps (pilei) are bell-shaped and flatten in maturity, and are golden brown, darkening towards the center and may become discoloured purple/black when spores drop due to heavy sporulation.
