Though Panaeolus tropicalis magic mushrooms (aka Copelandia tropicalis) are mostly found in Hawaii, Central Africa, and Cambodia, it has also been observed in Mexico, Tanzania, the Philippines, Florida, and Japan. This species, like others in the Panaeolus genus, grows on dung.

Pileas

Caps are convex with an incurved clay-coloured cap edge when young. Grayish to greenish in colour, the cap will become blue upon bruising.
