Conocybe

There are least 243 Conocybe species of mushrooms, at least 50 different species in North America. Characteristically, most:

– Are delicate and have a long, thin fragile stipe.

– Grow in grasslands on dead moss, dead grass, sand dunes, decayed wood, and dung.

– Conical or bell-shaped caps, lending themselves to the names dunce caps or cone heads.

Do not use this information to pick mushrooms in the wild.

It should be noted that although these different strains do possess different concentrations of psilocybin and psilocin, factors such as dosage, set, and setting are arguably more determinant of the outcome of effects experienced.
