Gymnopilus braendlei magic mushrooms can be found growing solitary or in dense clumps on tree stumps throughout Eastern US (and even Western US though not nearly as widespread) through the months of June – November.

Pileas

Cap is purplish, becoming pink then yellowish with green staining upon maturity. Convex, sometimes with a slight depression in the cap.
