Set & Setting

If you are looking for a German-speaking psilocybin mushroom in the Netherlands, Amsterdam-based Set & Setting may be just what you are looking for, offering guests legal and safe retreats with psilocybin-containing truffles. At Set & Setting we offer 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day retreats and we always recommend taking the longest ones, because they offer the most amount of time for your transformational process, and time is what we all have not enough of.

Jascha Renner, the founder of Set & Setting says that he started the retreat to fill a gap in the marketplace. “We started our business with the intent to provide modern, structured, and easily accessible information on psychedelics in German, ” Renner says. “I noticed that there is more and more information, but nothing really good in German. Since I have visited some ceremonies myself over the years, I began to notice that there is still no modern and professional (and legal of course) retreat for German-speaking people.”

We offer two kinds of retreats: OFFEN and TIEFGANG.

  • OFFEN: If you’re new to psychedelics the OFFEN retreats are for you.
  • TIEFGANG: If you already have a few or deeper psychedelic experiences, choose TIEFGANG.

My wife and I have been psychedelic enthusiasts for many years. It was like a logical next step to offer these kinds of retreats to the German-speaking world.

I’d say most inspiration actually came after the first retreat. This was a breakthrough moment for me when I saw firsthand how just a weekend could actually shift the course of someone’s life to a better place.

Ever since then I feel proud and motivated that we helped so many people and to help many more to come.

Our Processes

Intake and Screening Process

We have a four-step intake and screening process.

  1. In order to assess your suitability for the retreat, all applicants complete our intake questionnaire
  2. If your questionnaire indicates you are suitable for the retreat, we will set up our first video interview to learn more about your goals and intentions.
  3. During this video call, we complete a detailed psychological assessment with you.
  4. We conduct an interview with one of our psychologists to review your assessment results.

Preparation Process

Several weeks before the retreat, there is an online preparation course and a video pre-retreat talk.
